Job Title: Lead Data Engineer / Data Engineering Manager

Cognify Search has partnered with a boutique data consultancy that is seeking a Data Engineering Lead to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer looking to step up or a Lead Data Engineer seeking to own the strategic direction and team management of a data team that creates modern data platforms for their clients.

The ideal candidate should have a good grasp of cloud architecture and modern data tooling, with a passion for creating world-class data solutions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire a team, internal stakeholders, and clients are also necessary.

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a small team of data engineers, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality data solutions.
• Define technical direction and establish best practices for data engineering within the company.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and build data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools that will improve data engineering capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience as a data engineer or data engineering manager, with a track record of delivering high-quality data solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
• Experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and inspire a team.
• Understanding of self ervice BI, including use of tools like Looker and/or Tableau

Our client offers remote working and is open to hiring data engineers from anywhere in the UK. They do have a London office for those who wish to use it.

The salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
