We are seeking a collaborative and experienced leader to join our team as the Manager, Data Platform. In this role, you will lead the development and growth of our data processes, systems, and team, overseeing critical infrastructure that powers our business on a daily basis. Serving as a central partner to the organization, this is an opportunity to have a direct and long-term impact on our growth, improving how we use data to better serve our customers and scale our operations. Proactive in managing risks, and in communicating both good and bad news, you are a team player who brings people together. You understand the importance of data governance in ensuring long-term scalability. You are passionate about data democratization and end-user enablement. You demonstrate a bias for action and embrace a test and learn approach. Finally, you are inquisitive, love to learn, embrace failure, never give up, and are comfortable in a hybrid/remote (depending on location), fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a distributed team of data and analytics engineers
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data platform, including databases, ETL pipelines, BI platforms, observability, and related tools
• Work closely with members of our Finance, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure data initiatives and resources are aligned with company goals
• Implement and maintain a framework to ensure the accuracy, integrity, security, and availability of our data assets
• Optimize communication and collaboration across business and technical resources, providing training and support to foster an inclusive culture that drives innovation
• Define and report on key performance metrics related to system usage and effectiveness
• Manage vendor relationships, including consultants and software providers
• Ensure that systems and processes are compliant with data privacy, security, and other regulatory requirements (e.g. CCPA / CRPA)

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience managing data infrastructure and teams
• Deep knowledge of SaaS ETL tools (Stitch Data, DBT), data warehouse technologies (BigQuery, Redshift), and BI platforms (Mode Analytics, Looker)
• Familiarity with customer and business operations analytics needs, and hands-on experience with integration involving web analytics, CDP/CRM, and ERP systems
• Experience implementing and maintaining data governance initiatives
• Proven ability to ship high quality output, on-time and on budget
• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience in a direct-to-consumer retail or CPG setting is highly preferred
