About the Team

The Data Products team is part of the larger Data Engineering and Science team, and has one simple mission: to enable everyone at Miro to use data by making the right data assets available, with confidence, and to provide the tools to work with data products effectively. We are a multifunctional team passionate about building capabilities across the data engineering space: integration, quality management, tooling, discovery, and data modeling. Our objective is to build the data foundation for all of analytics to operate from.

Each role at Miro is based at one of our physical hubs and we look for talent that want to be part of these local, collaborative communities. Mironeers work in a hybrid model, with a 3 days a week in office culture as our baseline.

About the Role

Miro is seeking a talented individual to provide technical leadership and strategy for self-serve BI tooling and the implementation of our organizational BI platform (Looker). The successful candidate will design, help implement, and manage Looker architecture and data products, while ensuring quality, usability, reusability, and consistency. They will also be responsible for supplier relationship management, budgeting, and training programs to increase self-serve capabilities in end users and technical excellence amongst analysts. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data-driven decision making, experience with Looker and other BI tools, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of providing technical leadership in a complex data environment. You will be managing stakeholders at all levels and in a variety of roles. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact at Miro and drive data-driven decision making across the organization.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of frameworks and how to leverage the core BI platforms
  • Guide best practices across BI on how to create reusable assets for reporting and analytics
  • Develop a self-service BI strategy and partner with Analytics for implementation
  • Act as platform owner for our BI tools, designing and implementing security controls and managing performance

What you’ll need

  • 7+ years of experience working with Looker or other BI tooling (Looker highly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience designing and leading BI strategy in a large, complex organization
  • Significant experience in the design and implementation of BI data models
  • Excellent communication skills, spoken and written, with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience training and mentoring on the use of BI tooling
