Your Job :

Qover is seeking an Analytics Engineer to strengthen our data capabilities. As a core member of the data team, you will contribute to the definition of the data solutions that best answer our business needs. You will be in the driver's seat for implementing the data products, from prototyping to production, while always ensuring that your technical solutions align with the best engineering practices.

Our data stack (high-level): Airbyte - BigQuery - dbt - python - Looker

Your tasks and responsibilities

Your main objective is to develop and maintain scalable and clean data solutions to support the launch and execution of our insurance programs. We expect you to:

  • develop, maintain and improve our dbt data pipelines used to ensure the day-to-day operations of our embedded insurance programs
  • take ownership of the development of our Looker-based semantic layer, and pave the way towards self-service BI capabilities
  • Propose and implement a robust data model that can cope with the specificities of insurance data and require little modification to support the launch of the new products
  • automate as much as possible our operational reports. While some reports still involve manual work today, we want to reduce the operational burden to rock bottom
  • leverage synergies across our data sources to limit the number of tables in our BigQuery data warehouse, and avoid that our databases turn into a data maze
  • develop, govern, and maintain our client-facing dashboards by properly integrating Looker and Looker Studio
  • make sure that our partner’s data stay secured and private, one of our top priority
  • collaborate with the business teams. You will need to help them define what are the most important metrics to display
  • Advising business teams on how they best display the information, while enforcing that the selected performance metrics are consistent across dashboards
  • Ensuring a sufficient level of documentation

In addition, you will be a key technical contributor to the data space at Qover. You will leverage your expertise on various topics to:

  • Push our data architecture to the next level. This includes a constant review of our data model and data warehouse design.
  • Upskill the team by evangelizing good practices
  • Educate and help business users to become data-savvy

Your qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in SQL and data modelling
  • Experience in dbt and Looker is highly desirable
  • Fluent in python
  • You are familiar with the modern data stack
  • Experience with git, bash, CI/CD and docker
  • You have already delivered software products with units and integration tests
  • You have experience working with cloud services, and more specifically with serverless data warehouses.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and fluent in English.
  • While you always want to keep up with market trends and best practices, you are also pragmatic. You feel comfortable trading technical elegance to be able to speed up the pace of delivery
  • Willing to work in fast-paced environment and able to cope with time pressure
  • Autonomous, you are also hands-on with a strong team spirit
  • You are proactive and self-driven. You need minimal supervision and welcome changes. You are comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • You have a can-do NINJA mentality
